These pictures are beautiful. I spent an hour last night looking for inspiration for next year's camp and remembering last year fondly.
Thank you for putting these up!
I have your book on my coffee table which gets tons of compliments

His book is fantastic! I picked up a copy for my coffee table and it has been a favorite
among visiting friends (both Burner and non-Burner)

Hello philippe,
i received your book yesterday and have not put it down since.
you have captured the wonderful architecture that has evolved over decades
and the freedom feel of the festival. love it. i have travelled to the burning man festival twice
- both via motorcycle from toronto, canada.
the first time, while on a motorcycle trip in 1989, i accidentally discovered the burning man event when it was at baker beach in san francisico with maybe 300 people. i remember park police tried to prevent us setting fire to ‘burning man’ but we prevailed. the second and last time was in 1992 with around 600 people in the amazingly flat and empty black rock desert where i think it became the black rock arts festival. fireworks joined the flaming statue and that year there were lots of weird and wonderful vehicles driving around on 2 and 4 wheels, some really great sculptures, a plane landed and flipped over, lots of nudity, strange music and lots of tents and vw campers and, i think i remember, the start of some odd temporary living structures.
some great memories, so i thank you for your great photos.

The book arrived today.
I'm enjoying perusing it.
I like having a book specifically focused on the building and structures at BRC.
Maybe it will give me some ideas for future projects.
I just wanted to say thank you.

We received the book today!
I bought this for my partner.
She opened the package, pulled out the book of flower photos, and looked through and loved every page.
She was totally thrilled, and even more so when I told her that she was just looking at a bonus book
and that she should check the package again.
Lots of smiles over here today.
These are beautiful books. Thank you for your work.

The architecture of Black Rock City book is amazing, and I am so glad to have it.
But I was pleasantly surprised to receive _Brilliance_ as a bonus.
What a beautiful book. Thank you for both!

Your beautiful book arrived today.
Dropped everything to spend the last 90 minutes reading and savouring it.
Found one typo - department should be "departments" in the last line on page 29.

Thanks Philippe! Welcome home!
Really enjoy your book BTW. Been gifting it to my close burner friends and everyone has loved it!
If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by The New Barbarians camp (We’re usually on the corner of 7:30/A) and get a sausage/beer every day of the burn from 1-2pm and say hi!

Hi,
I really like the book. It transports the atmosphere of this “island like world“ in the desert of nevada very well. For me as an architect, i am really interested in the different ways and forms of sheltering. From urban planning perspective it s so good, 'cause for me, it's kind of a proof to see that formalism works well in an innocent area and big scaled surrounding. If u look closer u end in diversity. That's how it should be for me!
Also the quality of pictures is super to me. The variety / differences is publicated in perfect way.
I love this book, also looking with my 4years old daughter. Thx for this ! Markus S. (Nürnberg, Germany)
Phillippe,
Your book arrived today and it is gorgeous!
Thanks so much!!

Dear Mr Glade, Your beautiful book arrived on time and in perfect condition.
I was very impressed with it and consider it to be well worth the cost which, in my case, included extra Canadian dollars and a bit for customs.
It is to be a Xmas gift for my daughter and son-in-law who have been to the playa twice, once with their own construction, a mirror maze with fire.
It will mean much to them I am sure and a review from my daughter, who writes well and with comedic flare, would be better than anything that I could do. So, after Xmas, I will pass along this email to them.
Again, thank you for the book. (I really like the fabric covers). Jane N. (Canada)
Wonderful photo book. Must have for stunning images of Burning Man Ira F. (San Diego, CA)
Thank you so much for your tremendous work. It arrived in beautiful shape and is a thrill to peruse, you have great taste.
I worked on the Giant Weta for our regional Kiwiburn, here in NZ and am gifting a copy to Hippathy V.
I know he'll appreciate it if he doesn't have one yet! Looking forward to more in the future. Peter W. (Seattle, WA)

Congrutalutions for a job well done ….I like real paper books ….and real experiences
Hope to see you there. Saludos Rafael Garcia V. (from Spain)
I love the images; Philippe how much sleep did you go with out to capture those images at sunrise? I just went my seventeenth time, I always say to myself, no more, but then I look into your book, or go online......and damn I fix the old van for nothing, to keep us safe, I clime into the van and it's three days to get from Wisconsin to the Black Rock Desert. I love sitting in the van and not thinking about anything, as in what I just left behind.....can't do anything about it, I'll get back to it in about fifteen days. Clouds, I love clouds, and rolling topography. And then there are the Rocky's, and I am humbled and scared.
You are obviously contributing to my Playa Dust addiction.
Burning Man Story. A few years ago I stayed up all night placing new arrivals in our camp . The sun came up and arrivals tapered off; I went to my pup tent to sleep. In about four minutes someone is shacking/knocking on my tent, I unzip the door and look upon the person standing there; he is about six three, white, dark curly hair, 160lbs, wearing roller skates, the four wheel kind. And I of course said, "can I help you, what is your name?" And he of course said,"My name is Jesus".
So I did get out of my tent, and I properly placed Jesus in Snow Flake Village, and I did tell him that in a few days there was going to be a Roller Disco Rink a block or two away.
For the next seven days, I never saw that guy again......
That's why, next year will be my eighteenth. Steve J. D. (Milwaukee, WI)
Having read about this event for years, and now having talked with a friend who has attended for the last 2 years... I was prompted me to order the book. "Going" is now definitely on my bucket list! That said, reading the magnificent book, and trying to digest all that it entails in the "going," it's not for the faint of heart to simply drive down and "do it." Proper planning is very essential! I'll make it happen at some point.
Kudos to the authors for keeping my flame alive! :-) Ray K. (Albany, OR)
Phillippe,
My brother received the book today and he told me it was awesome!
Thank you very much for sending that out again; it truly means the world.
